My Story

When I entered high school I struggled with my looks. I was the big kid with a loud mouth, and as a result got bullied. Ironically, I never thought my weight was an issue until a doctor's visit told me I was obese and a blood test told me I was pre-diabetic.

My mom stressed by this news signed me up for personal training specialized in athlete performance (at the time I wanted to play basketball). To make sure I was eating right, I met with a nutritionist who gave me a diet plan for my blood type. Since this diet restricted many of my favorite sauces, I ate a lot of hot sauce and got heartburn as a result. Getting heart burn was a new feeling on my body, so scared about it being something to do with my heart I went to an cardiologist appointment. At the clinic I was told I had heartburn as well as a heart condition named Bicuspid Aortic Heart Valve. Which meant that my heart had two valves instead of the normal three. The cardiologist who was not a fan of weightlifting placed a ban on my weightlifting, forcing me to quit personal training.

As a result of this newfound news I started to stress eat and gain weight uncontrollably. As I became a larger person, my mental and physical health became even worse. Struggling to complete daily activities due to my weight as well as being bullied only pushed me further down a bad path.  After closing in on 270 pounds and being bullied the worst, I decided to finally make the change required to remove me of the situation I was in. After finding a diet online, on April 8th 2024 I began my weight loss.

After eating a small amount I was able to lose over 100 pounds. However because of the unhealthy dieting and rapid weight loss I began to feel weak, and again struggled to perform daily activities. After a doctor's visit declared my heart was beating under 40 bpm, I was sent to the hospital. in my two weeks time in the hospital, after being declared anorexic by a large team of doctors I was told I had to gain over 30 pounds to be healthy again.

After hearing this news I became stressed like never before, I was worried after gaining 30 pounds that I would become big again and as a result so would the bullying. After risking my health for my physical transformation I promised myself to never do take this risk again. So as a result, I applied myself to several different expert opinions and did a lot of research. After beginning this new part of my journey and seeing myself struggle with staying consistent, I changed my approach to lifting. From making myself see the gym as a hobby instead of a hard task, I picked exercises that where good for muscle growth and that also I found enjoyable. As a result of my research and finding a way to make the gym fun, I was able to gain a lot of muscle mass and achieve the body the younger me dreamed of having.  Now, I want to share my knowledge to others so they can have a similar transformation like me without making the same mistakes along the journey as I did.
